NOTE TO Applicant: To be eligible for a Rockland County Chapter NYSSPE Scholar Award, applicants must be currently enrolled as a high school senior year student when applying and must plan to attend an engineering program at a university/college that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET-EAC). An applicant will be disqualified if the school is not ABET-EAC accredited.

APPLICATION PACKAGE SUMMARY:

Your application submission should contain the following:

  1. Online submission of this application with answers to all questions above.

  2. Academic transcript which must be e-mailed by your school to Rockland Chapter at Scholarship@RocklandNSPE.com.  

  3. Recommendation letters from two (2) faculty members who taught you during high school.  These must also be e-mailed directly by the faculty members to Rockland Chapter NYSSPE at Scholarship@RocklandNSPE.com.

  4. Application and attachments MUST be received no later than April 21, 2023.  It is the applying student's responsibility to ensure that all required transcripts and letters of recommendation are received by this deadline.

  5. A Scholarship Award is judged by the Chapter based on academic record, extracurricular activities, work history, letters of recommendation, financial need, and demonstration of an aptitude for engineering.

AWARD:

The Rockland County Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers will notify a recipient of a scholarship award in writing.  Once the recipient has been notified, he or she will be required to submit proof of enrollment in an ABET/EAC accredited university or college under an engineering major program before an award is dispensed.
