In honor of Engineers' Week, the Rockland Chapter of NYSSPE will be hosting an evening PDH lecture on February 28th at 6:00 PM.

We are pleased to have Thomas McGuinness, P.E., the Construction Compliance Engineer for the New NY Bridge (Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge). He will speak about the challenges and accomplishment associated with the construction of the bridge. The new bridge replaced the Tappan Zee Bridge with a new 3.1-mile state-of-the-art, twin-span bridge across the Hudson River between Rockland and Westchester counties. The $3.98 billion Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is one of the largest single design-build contracts for a transportation project in the United States.

Learn more astonishing facts about the bridge including:
∙ 14 miles of main span cables
∙ 50 miles of foundation pilings
∙ 300 thousand cubic yard of concrete
∙ 220 million pounds of U.S. Steel
